The design's unique properties lie in its form and function. Unlike standard flat iron boxes, the top of Galaxy Trail X's metal outer casing is elevated by 1 cm. This seemingly minor modification, which may result in additional production and transportation costs, embodies humanity's yearning to "break through the plane and reach for the stars".
The design's realization technology also speaks volumes about its commitment to sustainability. Traditional lining materials often use plastic materials such as EPE foam. However, Galaxy Trail X adopts a cardboard structure fixed with interlocking tabs, eliminating the need for glue. This sustainable concept is a testament to Hu Jijun's innovative approach to design.
The design's specifications are as follows: Length x width x height: 361*312*75mm. These dimensions, combined with the design's unique properties and sustainable materials, make Galaxy Trail X a trendsetter in the realm of food packaging.
The design process took place between July and September 2022 in Shanghai. During this period, Hu Jijun faced the challenge of revitalizing traditional brands and making them more youthful and trendy. By utilizing data analysis, the designer segmented the population on TikTok and Tianmao, establishing user profiles focused on meeting user experience requirements.
Galaxy Trail X is more than just a food gift box; it's a symbol of well-established brand innovation, trendy and cool design, and a sustainable concept. It's a ceremonial experience that marries astronomy and space-themed design with the traditional celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival. This design is a testament to Hu Jijun's ability to create designs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and sustainable.
In conclusion, Galaxy Trail X is a marvel of design that has rightfully earned its place as a Golden A' Packaging Design Award winner. Its unique properties, sustainable materials, and innovative design approach make it a trendsetter in the realm of food packaging. As we look to the future, we can expect to see more designs like Galaxy Trail X that push the boundaries of what's possible in design.
